課程概述

Genetics laboratory includes several hands-on experiments to introduce methods and analytical tools in genetics. The experiments include cytogenetics, mutant analyses, segregation assay, linkage analyses, molecular genetics, and population genetics. We integrate genetic approaches as a mini-project for students to generated small deletions by CRISP-Ca9 transgenic tools in Drosophila. In addition to experimental and analytical skills, students must record their experimental results in detail and write a full report. 

課程目標
The ultimate goal for this course is to enhance students ability in independent research and in applying genetic approaches to real world questions. 
課程要求
Fully attendance is required and active participation is expected. Family vacations and social events are unacceptable reasons for missing a lab. If you must miss a class due to a serious illness or family emergency, please contact instructors by e-mail or phone directly.
